Blogging is weird.

I was checking our Google stats earlier today, and it turns out people still visit this blog. Pretty awesome, considering the SEVEN MONTH hiatus. I can't believe it's been seven months since our last update, I've come to the realization that I enjoy reading blogs much more than actually blogging.

We're still slowly working on the interior of the house, we're about 90% finished scraping the hideous tile off the hardwood floors in the bedroom, and have already started replacing the parts with termite damage.

Here are some pictures of the bedroom from last month:

Yesterday I was doing some evening interneting and I scrolled past an image that looked awfuly familiar...

I guess our little bathroom renovation is worthy of a Before and After on Apartment Therapy. WHO KNEW?

The bathroom is finally finished. Well, we're calling it finished.

After I took these pictures I finished caulking the last part of tile. The window still needs trim, but really, who needs trim? Not us! We also need to demo/frame in a new doorway and hallway. Right now the only entrance to the bathroom and the second bedroom is through our bedroom. But if you want to be technical, that's not really part of the bathroom, it's the hallway to the bathroom...

Yesterday Morgan dug some holes, got a gnarly sunburn, put in posts and poured some concrete. Hopefully this time next week we'll have a new fence and the dogs will have a backyard.

Progress!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

It's been about 3 weeks since we've done any work on the bathroom. As soon as we almost have a project finished we conveniently get busy/lazy/comfortable and it doesn't get touched for months and months. The bathroom is SO close to being finished, here's the small list of things that we still need to do.

  • strip and repaint the doors.
  • grout and caulk.
  • spray paint switch plates.
  • paint and hang trim.
  • pipe shelves!

I finally convinced morgan to let me paint our claw foot tub black. Now all i have to do is convince him that we need grey grout.

We went thrifting over the weekend and found the perfect mirror to go above the sink. A little spray paint, and it was good to go.
